Cassin’s Kingbird: Empty Nest

The mama and papa birds have been pushing the babies to participate in test flights the last few days. About a couple days ago, the last baby had flown away. What left is an empty nest.Empty nest

Looking far towards the billboard, I saw a few birds hanging out on the rails. It could be the family.

Let me conclude this Cassin’s Kingbird series with a couple “happy family” type pictures.

You should see a couple more baby beaks in the picture below.

I saw a few suitors visiting the empty nest. There is a possibility that a new tenant may move in soon 🙂 One additional thing I need to mention here. The nest had been through two heavy downpours – one with wind gust over 50 mph. The nest was left untouched. They are such a great architects and civil engineers!
