{No. 181} I Learned a New Word Today

January 18, 2015

Framing a Waning Crescent Moon

“Waning”

According to the Collins Dictionary,

  • (of the moon) showing a gradually decreasing portion of illuminated surface, between full moon and new moon

This is a picture I took about an hour before sunrise today. The moon is in a Waning Crescent phase. I was so lucky that the wind was extraordinary calm this morning. The cobalt blue sky was just… “so yummy”.

It’s not a good day unless you learn a new word! You might say new words make me beatific…
